Gold Medal. (Kgl. Danske Videnskabernes Selskabs Guldmedalje) awarded to Niels Bohr in 1907.
Bemærkning The medal is 5cm in diameter and was designed by Johan Henrik Wolff (1727-1788). On the front is a portrait of Christian VII (1749 -1808, r.1766 -1808). On the reverse is a female representation of the light of truth (veritati luciferae).

The Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters (Videnskabernes Selskab) was founded on November 13 1742, with King Christian VI's approval as a "learned society” by Count, Privy Councillor, J.L. Holstein, Royal historian, Professor Hans Gram, Professor of Theology Erik Pontoppidan and Secretary of the Danish Chancellery, Henrik Henrichsen.

Niels Bohr was awarded the medal for his thesis on the measurement of surface tension in liquids.
