Bemærkning Robert Douglas Coe (1902 -1985) was an American diplomat and the United States’ ambassador to Denmark from 1953 to 1957.
He received an A.B. in fine arts from Harvard University, and completed an M.A. at Magdalen College, Oxford. He retired in 1952.

Hans Christian Svane Hansen (1906 – 1960) was a Danish politician and Prime Minister of Denmark between 1955 and 1960.
In 1939 he became party secretary of the Social Democratic party but was forced to relinquish the role by the German occupying forces in 1941 (he took up the post again after liberation in 1945). He was a member of the liberation government, as minister for finance, after the war and in subsequent governments he was also minister for trade and foreign minister. He became Prime Minister in 1955 after the sudden death of his predecessor, Hans Hedetoft, retaining his post as foreign minister until 1958.
His political influence was to place Denmark firmly within NATO during the Cold War. He died unexpectedly of cancer in 1960.
